If no match exists, you add the payee manually with name, address, and your account number, and the system mails a paper check on the processing date — typically 3-5 business days until receipt. The payee record stores your account number with that biller so you only enter it once.

Every scheduled payment displays a guaranteed Deliver By date at the moment of scheduling. This date accounts for the biller's preferred receipt method (electronic or check), current business day cutoffs, and federal holidays. As long as your checking account carries sufficient funds on the processing date, NexTier ensures payment arrives by that date. If NexTier's operations cause late delivery and the biller charges a late fee, submit documentation through secure messaging and NexTier reimburses the late fee up to the maximum disclosed in the bill pay service agreement.
The guarantee does not cover late fees caused by insufficient funds at processing, scheduling errors by the customer (wrong payee or incorrect account number), payments scheduled past the biller's due date, or disputes the biller does not recognize as received. Customers are responsible for entering accurate biller account numbers and for verifying that scheduled dates allow enough time given the chosen delivery method.
